Does my landlord have to accommodate my disability?

I have severe allergies to mold and live in a very old house in a rural area near the ocean. I have never thought of my allergies as a disability until recently when I read the terms of the ADA. In humid or damp times of year, mold often grows around the unsealed windows, and I have difficulty breathing even with medication. I often haveto leave the house to feel any alleviation, but the symptoms last and interfere with work to the point where I am so sick that I often have to call in sick and recuperate. The basement is also just a dirt floor and it is very damp and moldy. I love the house but this is almost unbearable. Is my landlord required to accommodate me if I have a doctors note that verifies the disabling aspect of my allergies?
