Sims 3 Launcher won't work without internet?

Ever since I got Generations, when I go to the launcher and click the play button, it stops responding! It never did this until I got Generations! The only fix I found is to plug my laptop into an internet cable and play. I camp and travel a lot, so I don't always want to plug it in. What can I do? I don't want to reinstall it and lose my game! I don't care if I use the launcher or not, so what could I click in the program files? Also, I have Windows 7 on a Tobisha Laptop and my ram and other parts meet the system requirements, and are even better.
