What is ram and what does it do?

Ramdom Access Memory. It is where the CPU stores and works on data so the more you have the more room programs can run on. More RAM ususally makes things run faster since RAM is faster than reading the Hard Driive where sometimes pieces of the program are stored in a Cache. Turning off the computer powering down while running a program everthing is lost that was in RAM
